Transfromasi agraria
Transformasi agraria Asia Tenggara mutakhir
ditandai dengan konversi besar-besaran lahan
pertanian untuk kepentingan komersial, industri,
perumahan, pariwisata dan infastruktur, serta
tujuan konservasi lingkungan. Di sisi lain posisi
pertanian menurun secara progresif dalam ekonomi
nasional maupun sebagai sumber penghidupan
penduduk. Akibatnya penduduk pertanian
menurun drastis. Proses ini mengarah pada
apa yang disebut sebagai “deagrarianisasi”. Perjuangan
atas tanah sebagai ruang hidup dan
penghidupan terjadi secara kontestatif dan konfliktual
melibatkan aktor penduduk, negara, dan
swasta, yang ini merupakan gambaran kronis di
kawasan Asia Tenggara.
